Another way to make some money with your vacation video footage is to trade services with businesses at your travel destination. We recently visited California’s Gold country and bartered some video services at a cute little wine pub in Volcano, California where I shot this video.
One of our business associates, Claudia Grant with Island Video, has wrangled a couple of great gigs doing this. Here’s the link to the video she shot while staying at the Tamarind Club resort in British Virgin Islands.
With video camera in hand, there are so many ways to underwrite a portion of your trip, get your entire vacation paid for or better yet, get paid AND get free travel, room and board – what better way than to get paid to play!

The first thing that greeted you upon entering the recent DVExpo show was some astonishing 3-D monitors, and the prices were equally breathtaking. Who knows where this 3-D video trend is headed? Will we all be shooting and watching 3-D in the near future, or will this remain a novelty item for those with the spare cash to buy the expensive production and viewing equipment?
