You do seem more comfortable and quite natural using the teleprompter. Like you I’ve also had a challenge with the public speaking end of things. I relate so much to your comment about it not even being easy sometimes in a casual one-on-one conversation to smoothly articulate what I want to say. I think it’s great that you have found a way to make it work for you. I have tentative plans to do some demo style videos so I am not sure how well a teleprompter would work for me in this kind of situation. I believe I am going to first try out a few of my other tricks that I’ve learned while doing live workshop presentations. But I will definitely give a teleprompter consideration if I find myself still uncomforable with the results and/or stalling, because I do recognize video is an important way to me to market my products and services. I loved your idea of renting the use of your prompter out to other small biz folks.
Thanks for your comments, Jan. You do have to work with the teleprompter a few times so that it doesn’t look like you’re reading but soon you get the hang of it. I like to use it more of a crutch so that I won’t forget to mention my key points. It also keeps me from using “ums” and “ahs” in my speech.
