Come on in, the water is fine!
Last week at this time we were driving into beautiful Lake Tahoe for a few days of rest and rejuvenation. As Mark Twain put it so eloquently: “Three months of camp life at Lake Tahoe would restore an Egyptian mummy to his pristine vigor.” He was right!
We stayed at a cute little hotel called 3 Peaks Resort and as it turned out, they had this great hot tub and pool! What made it even better is that here, nestled in the mountains at 7000 feet, at the beginning of fall and only yards from Lake Tahoe, we discovered the warmest swimming pool we have been in. Here’s a photo of us in the pool.
We weren’t even that lucky in Las Vegas this past July when the water was too cool to enjoy a nice swim.
You would think that a pool in the middle of the desert in the heat of summer would be warm, and a pool at a mountain resort in fall would be too cold to swim in, but that wasn’t the case, as so often we learn about our many assumptions in life.
This brings me to the moral of this short message: in this business of video publishing you may think it is too hard to get started, like stepping into that mountain pool that you expect to be cold. However, you may be pleasantly surprised at how rewarding the experience can be. You don’t have to dive in to find out. You can test the waters, wade in at your own pace and you may discover, like we have, how delightful the water can be!
